Although this sticky rice is perfect with Oriental food, it is also ideal with all savoury dishes and makes an excellent rice pudding. Cold cooked Fragrant Jasmine is wonderful to use as fried rice - the lightly sticky grains separate when re-heated.

Directions For Use
Choose ONE of the following methods. When cooked, this rice has a slightly more luscious texture than other long grain rices. If you prefer a fluffier grain, we suggest you follow the steaming instructions.
For all methods, rinse the rice well in a sieve under cold running water. Thai rice is traditionally served unseasoned. Quantities are enough for 4 servings.
1. OPEN PAN METHOD Put 250g (8oz) rice into a large saucepan with about 1.2 litres (2½ pints) boiling water. Return to a medium boil, stir and cook uncovered for 8 10 minutes. Drain, then serve.
2. COVERED PAN METHOD Put 250g (8oz) rice in a medium saucepan with 450ml (¾ pint) cold water. Bring to the boil, stir, cover and simmer very gently for 10 minutes. Allow to stand for 5 minutes and fork through gently, then serve.
3. STEAMING METHOD Par-cook 250g (8oz) rice according to open pan method above but for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse. Place in a steamer over a pan of boiling water. Cover and steam for 5 minutes. Fork through gently, then serve.
4. MICROWAVE METHOD Put 250g (8oz) rice in a deep microwave dish with 450ml (¾ pint) boiling water. Stir and cover cook on HIGH for 5 minutes. Stir, re-cover and cook on DEFROST for 6 minutes. Allow to stand for 3 minutes and fork through gently, then serve.
TIMINGS ARE FOR A 650 WATT OVEN. ADJUST OVENS WITH DIFFERENT OUTPUTS ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
